It’s been a rough summer for the restaurant beat, folks. Decca is closing after 10 years in NuLu, and Gold Bar is closing in Butchertown, too. And now – it’s time for the Kentucky State Fair, plus some additional food and cooking news.

Yelp reviewer Amy L.: Dairy Kastle is a a local hot spot. They are only open seasonally but there is ALWAYS a huge line. People go nuts over this place. I can see why. They offer a ton of different delicious ice creams, floats, flurry's, sundae's, shakes and more all for cheap and the owner is super friendly and helpful. .

Dairy Kastle closing early — This summer season ice cream spot is closing early this summer due to staffing shortages. Usually it’s open for a while longer, but this year it closed on Aug. 14, and will not open again until March 2023.
